Criminal Intelligence Sharing: Protecting Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties (Privacy 101) Training

In recent years, the importance of information sharing among the nation’s law enforcement agencies has come to the forefront, particularly regarding criminal intelligence. In light of this, the Criminal Intelligence Sharing: Protecting Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties Training has been designed to present effective information sharing tools, examine the principles of 28 CFR Part 23, and address the importance of privacy and civil liberties within the context of information sharing.
The purpose of this training is to enhance information sharing by clarifying the various rules and regulations to ensure that agencies are more confident as they collect and share information, particularly criminal intelligence information. Topics include Current Issues and Initiatives in Law Enforcement Intelligence, Fundamentals of Privacy, an Overview of 28 CFR Part 23, and Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Lawsuits and Criminal Intelligence Records.
On-site technical assistance is also available to law enforcement agencies upon request and may include topics such as Compliance With 28 CFR Part 23, Sound Information Privacy Policy, or Specialized Problem Resolution.
