Justice Information Sharing Web Site (it.ojp.gov)
The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), is dedicated to justice information sharing and actively demonstrates this objective through a variety of programs and initiatives. The Justice Information Sharing Web site outlines all of these efforts. The site was created as a comprehensive information sharing resource for justice practitioners at all levels of government. It provides timely and useful information on justice integration and relevant technological developments, with resources focused on leveraging technology to improve the effective exchange of information among members of the justice and public safety community.
The Justice Information Sharing Web site provides a wealth of helpful information, including state information sharing profiles, case studies, best practices, information technology products, state and territory practitioner points of contact, a listing of technical assistance providers, success stories, legislation, funding sources, and much more.
The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) houses, manages, researches, and develops and maintains content for the Justice Information Sharing Web site, including the Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative, the Justice Standards Clearinghouse, and the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) Clearinghouse. IIR staff members continuously monitor the content on the Justice Information Sharing Web site, and information technology-related news stories and other relevant content are posted daily.
