National Youth Gang Center (NYGC)
The proliferation of gang problems in large and small cities, suburbs, and even rural areas over the last two decades led to the development of a comprehensive, coordinated response to America's gang problem by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The OJJDP response involves five major components, one of which is the implementation and operation of the National Youth Gang Center (NYGC).

An update to the National Youth Gang Survey Analysis is available. This update represents data collected through the current survey year 2007.- Guidelines for Establishing and Operating Gang Intelligence Units and Task Forces (Adobe PDF) is now available.

- The National Youth Gang Center is providing updates on evaluations of two programs that address gang activity: the Gang Resistance Education And Training (G.R.E.A.T.) Program and CeaseFire, a Chicago-based violence prevention program. View the summaries of the findings here (Adobe PDF).
