Announcement: Request for Proposals

Nationwide Crime Analysis Capability Project Competitive Award Announcement

In coordination with the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) is publishing this notice to announce a request for proposals (RFP) to participate as a site in the Nationwide Crime Analysis Capability Project. IIR intends to make a limited number of awards, and each selected site will work with a subject-matter expert(s) (SME) to enhance its crime analysis capabilities. Subsequently, these sites will be highlighted as model crime analysis sites. The SME will define best practices, develop training, and provide content for the Crime Analysis Capability Implementation Toolkit.

Eligibility: Applicants are limited to state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement and public safety agencies, all of which must have an existing crime analysis capability.
Grant Awards: It is anticipated that three awards will be made to agencies with a current analytic capability who are willing to participate in the project and work with a subject-matter expert to enhance that capability. Awards of the following types will be considered: one award to a midsized agency, one award to an agency with regional partnerships that may include a fusion center, and one award to an agency that operates a real-time crime center.
Posting of Proposal: The complete solicitation is posted on the IIR Web site, located at http://www.iir.com/documents/CACRFP05182014.pdf.
Q&A: Questions and answers are posted on the IIR Web site, located at http://www.iir.com/documents/QuestionsandAnswers.pdf.
Deadline: All submissions for this project should be received by IIR no later than 5:00 p.m., EDT, on July 11, 2014.
