About IIR
The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR), a nonprofit
research and training organization, specializes in law enforcement, juvenile justice,
criminal justice, and homeland security issues.
IIR provides local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies with
assistance needed to implement changes that promote greater governmental effectiveness.

Gangs
National Gang Center™ (NGC)
The NGC is a collaborative effort between the Office of Justice Programs' (OJP) Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA)
and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to provide the latest information and training
on anti-gang strategies.
Gang Resistance Education And Training (G.R.E.A.T.)
The G.R.E.A.T. Program is a school-based, law enforcement officer-instructed classroom
curriculum. The program's primary objective is prevention and is intended as an immunization
against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership.
Information Sharing
Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative (Global)
The Global Initiative is a collaborative effort among government bodies and nonprofit
organizations to develop and implement a standards-based electronic information exchange
capability, providing the justice community with timely, accurate, complete, and accessible
information in a secure and trusted environment.
National Criminal Intelligence Resource Center (NCIRC)
The NCIRC Web site, www.ncirc.gov, serves
as a "one-stop shop" for local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement communities to
keep up with the latest developments in the field of criminal intelligence.
Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website
The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) receives
grant funding from the U.S. Department of
Justice to provide technical assistance and coordination in support of the
Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website.
National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C)
A support system for the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of economic crimes,
the NW3C serves law enforcement, prosecution, and regulatory agency members.
Regional Information Sharing Systems® (RISS)
The six RISS Intelligence Centers provide services to over 8,300 local, state, federal,
and tribal law enforcement agencies. By providing rapid access to information otherwise
unavailable or too time-consuming to obtain, the RISS network has made a significant
difference in the fight against crime.
Justice Training
Center for Task Force Leadership and Integrity (CTFLI)
The CTFLI online training and resource center is a restricted-access Web site that addresses the varying needs of our nation’s law enforcement officers, commanders, and executive leadership involved in
task force operations.
The online training and resources provide a foundation for local, state, and tribal law enforcement task force personnel to effectively combat multijurisdictional criminal organizations, while operating
with integrity and accountability with regard to an individual’s privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties and promoting officer safety. Training focuses on the organizational and operational philosophies
of successful task forces and includes strategies for effective leadership and management of task forces.
Center for Task Force Training™ (CenTF)
Two different training courses are currently available in the CenTF Program: the
Narcotics Commanders Workshop and the Methamphetamine Investigative Workshop.
Criminal Intelligence for the Chief Executive (CICE) Briefing
The CICE course is a one-day briefing designed for law enforcement leadership.
The course provides an overview of the importance of an intelligence capability
in a law enforcement agency.
Criminal Intelligence Systems Operating Policies (28 CFR Part 23) Technical Assistance and Training
State and local agencies that receive federal funding to operate criminal
intelligence systems must comply with specific regulations, including those
in 28 CFR Part 23. Technical assistance and a half-day class provide information
on guidelines for operating criminal intelligence systems.
Intelligence Commanders Course
A two-day course designed for law enforcement intelligence commanders. This
training will provide the essential principles to effectively establish and/or
operate an intelligence unit.
Project Safe Neighborhoods Anti-Gang Training
The goal of this training is to improve the level of knowledge, communication,
and collaboration involved in addressing the criminal gang issue affecting
communities throughout the nation. The curriculum is based on current policies
and proven practices and strategies in the criminal justice field
State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT®)
The SLATT Program provides pre-incident preparation and readiness training
to state and local law enforcement in the area of anti-terrorism and violent
extremist criminal activities. The Program's emphasis is on prevention and early
interdiction of violence and criminal activities
