Senior System Engineer

The Regional Information Sharing Systems, Office of Information Technology (RISS OIT) located in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking qualified applicants to fill the full-time position of Senior System Engineer.

Incumbent will be responsible for administration of national network infrastructure including wiring, servers, printers, routers, switches and other connected devices. Administration of network devices and core servers. Tracking of network performance and server operation. Management of DNS, LDAP and other core server configuration. Administration of authentication, authorization and access control structure. Responsible for systems programming and scripting. Implementation of reporting for core servers. Participation with team members for ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and provides technical support to RISS Centers and other entities. Ability to use network monitoring systems, cable testers, and fabricate network cables required. An orderly approach to troubleshooting is a must. This position provides support to internal staff as well as outside project partners. Position requires active participation with team members in discussions of network architecture and implementation of necessary changes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Incumbent must maintain confidentiality and excellent working relationships with project partners.

Position requires an associate’s degree in Information Systems or related and experience in system administration, router configuration and systems programming preferred. Related professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirements on a year-by-year basis.

Disaster Recovery Network Engineer

The Regional Information Sharing Systems, Office of Information Technology (RISS OIT) located in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking qualified applicants to fill the full-time position of Network Engineer at our Disaster Recovery location in Newton, PA.

Incumbent will be responsible for installation, configuration, and upgrades to network devices including firewalls and routers.  Configuration and maintenance of local network infrastructure including wiring, servers, printers, routers, switches and other connected devices.  Monitors network security and performance.  Position is involved with administration of authentication, authorization and access control structure.  Configuration of node firewalls and coordination of installation.  Provides application installation, configuration, and maintenance support of disaster recovery resources.  Participation with team members for ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and provides technical support to RISS Centers and other entities.  Ability to use network monitoring systems, cable testers, and fabricate network cables required.    An orderly approach to troubleshooting is a must.  This position provides support to internal staff as well as outside project partners.  Position requires active participation with team members in discussions of network architecture and implementation of necessary changes.
