OJJDP’s Comprehensive Response to Gangs
The National Youth Gang Center is funded by and operates under the auspices
of the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice
and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The Center is a major component of OJJDP’s
Comprehensive Response to America’s Gang Problem, which also includes:

Demonstration of the Comprehensive Communitywide Approach to Gang Prevention, Intervention, and Suppression and the Gang Reduction Program in selected communities.

An independent evaluation of the demonstration projects.

Training and technical assistance regarding communitywide responses to gangs.

Targeted acquisition and dissemination of gang materials via the National Criminal Justice Reference Service.
