Tracks

The NIEM National Training Event will provide concurrent breakout sessions organized into six different tracks to offer its participants specialization options. The tracks were selected based on participants' typical job requirements and are displayed below:

• Executive/Program Manager
• Architecture
• New NIEM 2.1 content sessions: What's new in: Maritime, CBRN, Family Services
• General Implementation
• NIEM Implementation Using LEXS, ULEX, or UCORE
• Emergency Interoperability Summit

Participants are not required to remain within a particular track throughout the event and may select their training sessions based on what best suits their needs.

Track #1 – NIEM Program Management: Facing constrained budgets is an everyday fact, but it is especially true in our current environment. Expanding on that theme, this track will help government program managers, directors, and decision makers responsible for commitments to programs understand the NIEM program, the model, and its capabilities. Speakers with NIEM practical experience will provide you with the knowledge to develop a value proposition, strategies for adoption, and rationale for funding.

Track #2 – NIEM Architecture: This track will provide NIEM enterprise architects, implementers, and developers with the knowledge they need to derive business value from their NIEM implementation. Hear industry experts discuss issues related to Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) framework, which architectures affect implementation, what Global Federated Identity and Privilege Management (GFIPM) and Justice Reference Architecture (JRA) are, and why architecture is important.

Track #3 – New NIEM 2.1 content sessions: What's new in: Maritime, CBRN, Family Services: This track has been designed to educate the broad audience on new content, tips and tricks for using or implementing NIEM.

Track #4 – NIEM General Implementation: Hear from the experts who have developed Information Exchange Package Documents (IEPDs), frameworks, and architectures to support the implementation of NIEM. This track will be in a workshop/lab format where developers and implementers can learn through case studies and discussion of how others have tackled NIEM. Ask other practitioners and industry experts questions about NIEM and supporting tools to assist in implementing your project.

Track # 5 - NIEM Implementation Using LEXS, ULEX, or UCORE: This track will be a workshop/lab format where developers can ask questions about NIEM, learn about tools to assist in the implementation of NIEM, and more. This track will specifically focus on NIEM using LEXS, ULEX, and UCORE.

Track # 6 - Emergency Interoperability Summit: This track will serve as an important vehicle to facilitate coordination among first responders, policy makers, legislators, government agencies, and vendors. The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to express their needs, discover advances that are in development, and learn about interoperable solutions that are being implemented today.
