Web Site Designer/Developer

The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) is seeking an energetic, creative self-starter to join our Web development team. The selected candidate must be imaginative and resourceful, with the ability to capture ideas from provided requirements and craft elegant products that amplify focus with precision communication that cannot be overlooked. Position responsibilities and candidate qualifications are as follows:


  • Regularly produce clear and concise assets for Web design
  • Forge and execute exciting digital ideas and apply visual standards
  • Work with colleagues to develop conceptual designs supporting an overall messaging strategy
  • Work with colleagues to continually deliver products on schedule
  • Propose, plan, design, and deliver a full range of high-impact digital products, including, but not limited to apps, infographics, social media graphics, and Web-based content
  • Manage production and delivery of materials by working closely with internal and external resources
  • Stay up to date with industry trends
  • Maintain high standards and ensure that only the best work is released to the client
  • Collaborate across the group to raise standards of digital creativity
  • Communicate design concepts with clear reasoning behind proposed solutions
  • Design and implement mobile-responsive Web pages and components

Required Skills/Experience

  • Photoshop
  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • Mobile-responsive design
  • Layout
  • Understanding of and experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, blogging, etc.
  • Translate requirements into wireframes and mockups

Note: Portfolio review required

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • JavaScript/jQuery
  • .NET or OOP Programming
  • SQL
  • Content Management System administration

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with two or more years of experience with Web design and development or a combination of appropriate post-high school education and relevant experience equal to six years.


Entry-level gross annual salary is in the range of $45,000 to $50,000. Salary is offered based on education and years of experience.
