Application Support Specialist

IIR is seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time position of Application Support Specialist. The incumbent will provide testing and support for applications developed by IIR’s application development team. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to add value to existing and new applications by enhancing the quality of the applications being delivered. Position responsibilities and candidate qualifications are as follows:


  • Develop application test plans to be used internally as well as distributed to end users to validate successful implementation.
  • Execute test plans to detect software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected.
  • Document anomalies and issues.
  • Create user manuals and help content for online applications.
  • Work with multimedia staff to develop video tutorials to explain application functionality.
  • Work with graphic designers to enhance the appearance of applications.
  • Provide technical assistance to application end users.
  • Utilize Social Media to raise awareness for public safety issues.


  • Experience providing application support and quality assurance testing.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or other appropriate degree with 2+ years of experience supporting and testing technical applications; or a combination of appropriate post-high school education and relevant experience equal to six years.
